Job Title: QHSE Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Overall Purpose of Job

Assist in administering and improving the company’s quality, Health, Safety, and Environment management programmes in accordance with best practices in the Oil and Gas Sector and International QHSE requirements.
Responsibilities

Assisting in QHSE supervision for all projects including that of contractors
Monitoring compliance with the company QHSE procedures
Assessing work – related risks and ensuring that mitigation actions are implemented
Ensure that all work environments are QHSE compliant
Assist in improving the level of awareness and conformance to QHSE and Security standards by staff through effective trainings and communication.
Stop any activity that is a threat to the personnel and public’s health and safety
Assist in QHSE audits at project sites ensuring identified actions are taken
Assist in QHSE in-house audits and inspections to assess company compliance with QHSE plan and follow up to ensure action items are closed out
Report all safety acts worthy of emulation and announcement
Assist int the monthly QHSE meetings and follow up action items
Assist in calibration of equipment
Person Specification & Required Competencies

A minimum of first degree with 3 years working experience in the Oil and Gas Industry in a similar role.
Valid QHSE Certifications – ISPoN, or NEBOSH, or, ISO 45001: 2018 internal Auditors certifications etc.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools.
Very sound written, communication and presentation skills
Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate the ability to implement and monitor QHSE management systems
Must be computer literate, and have the ability to manage the company’s QHSE database
A team player
Should be a quick thinker and respond quickly to any emergency situation
Customer service oriented.
