It operates in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, with a focus on projects in Port Harcourt and its surrounding area.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Legal Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time


Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory:

Provide expert legal advice to senior management and other departments.
Interpret laws, regulations, and legal frameworks relevant to the organization.
Compliance:

Ensure the organization complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
Develop and implement compliance programs and policies.
Contract Management:

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
Monitor contractual obligations and manage contract disputes.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:

Represent the organization in legal proceedings, arbitration, or mediation.
Coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary.
Risk Management:

Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Conduct regular legal audits and assessments.

Policy Development:

Develop and update internal policies and procedures to align with legal requirements.
Train staff on legal and compliance matters.
Leadership:

Supervise and mentor junior legal staff.
Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) is required; a Master’s degree (LLM) or equivalent is preferred.
Admission to the bar or relevant legal accreditation.
Minimum of 7–8years of experience in legal practice.
Experience in managing complex legal cases and contracts.
Key Skills:

Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and employment law.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Proficient in legal research and drafting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High ethical standards and attention to detail
